Dardar, Hali
Former Language Vitality Initiative Project Manager
Hali Dardar supports process development, community-based service design, and general operations for Language Vitality Initiative. Co-founder of the Houma Language Project and member of the United Houma Nation, she holds a BA in print journalism from Louisiana State University and an MA in Arts, Culture, and Media from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen. She is interested in understanding the participation and representation of contemporary community memory systems, and participates in Indigenous media and language activism through community organizing, experience design, and new media art.
Through the Language and Archives Mentorship program, Dardar works to support members of existing Indigenous or minoritized language efforts leverage Smithsonian resources within their reclamation work.
