Marable-Bunch, Maria
Associate Director, Museum Learning and Programs
Ms. Marable-Bunch has over 25 years of experience teaching with objects in museums. She has created and implemented numerous professional development programs for Pre-K-12 teachers on how to use museum objects to enhance classroom instruction and improve student learning. She has worked in major museums like the Philadelphia Art Museum, Kidspace Children’s Museum, Pasadena, CA; Smithsonian Institution, the National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, and the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL. She has an extensive background in working with superintendents, curriculum specialists, principals, parents, and other educational specialists in public schools creating in-depth programs and educational resources (in print and on the web) that draw on museum resources. Through her work at the Smithsonian Institution and the Art Institute of Chicago, she managed partnerships with the District of Columbia Public Schools and Chicago Public Schools to create museum schools in these cities.
