Ginger (Strader) Minkiewicz
Director
Ginger Minkiewicz leads Smithsonian Scholarly Press (SISP), a scholarly, open access publisher dedicated to publishing monographs and reference works authored by Smithsonian researchers. As Director, SISP, Ginger directs implementation and administration of the Institution's "Plan for Increased Public Access to Results of Federally Funded Research." Expertise includes content development; production services and management; publishing best practices and ethics; publishing agreements, licensing, and intellectual property; process management; change management; and public access/funder mandates. Ginger is the designee on the Smithsonian's Directive Review Council (DRC) for the Under Secretary for Science and Research and the Under Secretary for Museums and Culture. Ginger is the Institution's primary representative on the NSTC's Subcommittee on Open Science.
