Professional Biography

Sheila's library career began at Marquette University's Law School. She moved to the East Coast to work within the library cataloging department of Georgetown University before entering Federal Service at the Smithsonian Libraries, where she gained further expertise in Cataloging. After passing OPM's Federal Government Librarian examination, she served as the Head of the Smithsonian Libraries Catalog Management Department. Her areas of expertise include Cataloging, Metadata, Integrated Library Systems planning and Data conversion.
Sheila also served as a Library Journal book reviewer for 25 years.
