Raid M Suleiman, Ph.D.

Astrophysicist

I work at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian in the Atomic and Molecular Physics (AMP) Division for the Atmospheric Measurements Group.  I am also affiliated with the Solar, Stellar, and Planetary Sciences (SSP) and High Energy Astrophysics (HEA) Division.

I am responsible for SAO operational data products (BrO, OClO, and CHOCHO) from OMI and NO2 from GOME2. A member of the Orbiting Carbon Observatory 2 (OCO2) Science Team and a CO-I on NASA's newly selected TEMPO.  In addition to serving as a Co-I on TEMPO, I am responsible for BrO, H2O, and Level 3 data products.  I am also the data manager and will be responsible for managing the Instrument Operations Center (IOC) and the Science Data Processing Center (SDPC).

While at the SSP Division, I worked for the Ultraviolet Coronagraph Spectrometer UVCS aboard SOHO (Solar and Heliospheric Observatory). Worked, in addition to distributing data among the UVCS team, on the Flat Field effects of UVCS, spectral line analysis, Ly-alpha line profile in coronal holes, and coronal mass ejections.

After graduating from the University of New Hampshire, I worked for the Imaging Compton Telescope COMPTEL aboard the Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory. I was responsible for constructing COMPTEL's Solar Flare Catalog from data obtained by the Burst Detectors of COMPTEL.

Currently, I am working on TEMPO and studying black holes from quantum gravity, cosmological, and astrophysical aspects.
