The three species of the subgenus Neoscatella Malloch, 1933 within the genus Scatella Robineau-Desvoidy, 1830 from the New Zealand subregion are revised: Scatella (Neoscatella) nelsoni Tonnoir & Malloch, 1926 and Scatella (Neoscatella) vittithorax Malloch, 1925 and a new species, Scatella (Neoscatella) moriori Mathis & Costa sp. nov., from Chatham Island. For perspective, diagnoses for Scatella and Neoscatella are provided, and to facilitate identification of Neoscatella and its species from the New Zealand subregion, keys to subgenera and species are provided as well as figures of wings and structures of male terminalia. Where information is available, we comment on the natural history of the species.
